Residual Data Analyst Responsibilities include:

  1. Analyzing and calculating residual partner payments, referral fees, and revenue-sharing obligations based on transaction data and partner agreements.
  2. Extracting, transforming, and analyzing large datasets from payment processors and internal databases to ensure accuracy of financial calculations.
  3. Building advanced Excel workbooks with complex formulas, macros, and dashboards for residual calculations and reporting.
  4. Developing and maintaining dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools for insights into residual payments and partner performance.
  5. Generating detailed partner statements and resolving inquiries related to residual payments and fees.
  6. Interpreting partner agreements and applying complex fee structures accurately within reporting models.
  7. Improving automation and scalability of residual processes to reduce manual work while maintaining accuracy.
  8. Collaborating with Finance, Business Development, Legal, and Operations teams to align residual processes with broader frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business/Economics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the payments industry, preferably with processors, ISOs, ISVs, or FinTech.
  • Expert-level Excel skills, including formulas, macros, and dashboards.
  • Proficiency in database querying and transaction data analysis.
  • Deep understanding of payment processing structures and residual payment streams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex contracts into accurate financial models and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical and financial details.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building or managing residuals management platforms or automated reporting modules.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with API data extraction and integration.
  • Background working with acquirers, payment gateways, or merchant reporting systems.
  • Experience supporting partner operations or revenue accounting.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
