Job summary

Cocoon House in Monroe, Washington, seeks a Youth Housing Support Staff (Swing Shift) to provide a safe, supportive environment for teens in care. In this Residential Youth Counselor role, you’ll promote positive interactions, teach life and social skills, and run enrichment activities at the on-site Emergency Shelter.

This full-time swing shift (Thu–Mon, 3:30 pm–11:30 pm) starts at $21 per hour, with a $1.50 differential for multilingual skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Six months minimum experience working with youth.
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• DCYF background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build supportive relationships with youth and staff in a positive, collaborative manner.
• De-escalate crises and apply trauma-informed care in daily work.
• Process intakes/exits and record program information for logs.
• Transport youth to appointments and coordinate with case managers.
• Provide meals, activities, and teach basic life skills.
• Maintain facilities cleanliness and ensure safety within the program.
