Job summary

Cocoon House is hiring a Youth Housing Support Staff (Swing Shift) to provide a safe, supportive environment for teens in the Transitional Living Program located in Everett, WA. This Residential Youth Counselor role offers engaging opportunities to build rapport, model healthy boundaries, and support youth through daily activities and crises with trauma-informed care.

The position requires weekend availability and offers a starting wage of $21 per hour with a $1.50 per hour multilingual pay

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• 6 months minimum experience with youth.
• DCYF background clearance required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to diffuse escalated youth and maintain boundaries.
• Must attend weekly meetings and bi-weekly supervision.
• Commitment to equity and trauma-informed practices.

Responsibilities

• Build supportive relationships with youth and staff.
• Provide a safe, supportive environment in a residential setting.
• Assist with meals, groceries, and cooking.
• Arrange appointments and dispense medications for youth.
• Ensure safety and enforce program rules.
• Document required data and maintain logs for case planning.
• Transport youth to appointments as needed.
• Participate in enrichment activities and programming.
