Job summary

Thompson seeks a Residential Youth Care Specialist to provide care, supervision, and to build therapeutic relationships with youth aged 10-17 in a residential setting at Thompson Child & Family Focus in Matthews, NC. Expect a fast-paced environment with a team dedicated to positive outcomes.

The role requires participation in a 4-day Therapeutic Crises Intervention training before engagement. Starting pay is $17.00–$19.50 hourly, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in the Human Services field strongly preferred.
• High School diploma/GED with two years' relevant experience working with youth may substitute for BA/BS.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, supervision, structure, and build therapeutic relationships with youth.
• Work with clients aged 10–17, including potentially aggressive youths, as part of a treatment team.
• Follow rotating 1st/2nd shift schedules and on-site residential duties as assigned by Supervisor.
