Job summary

Heartland Family Service in Nebraska is seeking a therapist to join its residential drug and alcohol treatment program serving women and their children. The role focuses on trauma-informed, client-centered treatment, weekly sessions, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support long‑term recovery and family stability.

This position offers a 40‑hour work week (Mon‑Fri, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) with one evening and a rotating on‑call week.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or MFT required.
  • LMHP/LADC preferred; provisional licensure acceptable with experience.
  • Provide trauma-informed, client-centered treatment and case management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake interviews with DSM5 diagnostic impression and treatment recommendations.
  • Establish treatment plans with client participation specifying structure, outcomes, goals.
  • Provide individual and group substance abuse and mental health treatment.
  • Counsel individuals, couples and families within the treatment plan framework.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver trauma-informed care.
  • Maintain clinical records and ensure timely billing documentation.
  • Participate as on-call therapist in a 6-week rotation.
