Job summary

CP Rochester is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join the Residential Services team in the Rochester area. You will support adults with developmental disabilities in daily living, personal care, and community engagement to promote independence and self-respect.

The role involves teaching skills, providing companionship, and encouraging activity participation while ensuring safety and dignity for participants. Evening and weekend hours are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid and clean New York State Driver's License is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities are essential.
• Ability to complete required trainings including First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration.
• Physical capability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by teaching independent living skills.
• Assist with personal care and daily routines.
• Encourage development of Recreation/Leisure, home management, social/interpersonal skills and community relationships.
