Job summary

Community-Residences in Manchester, CT seeks a Resident Instructor to create a nurturing learning environment and support clients with daily living skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two years in Human Services preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience working with developmentally disabled adults.
• Ability to lift and transfer up to 70–75 lbs; active indoors/outdoors.
• Valid CT driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Create a nurturing learning environment and develop strategies to help clients cope with social, emotional, and daily living tasks.
• Implement care plans and document client progress, barriers, and needs.
• Monitor medical, physical, and behavioral changes and report to supervisors.
• Assist in meals planning and preparation within budget resources.
• Maintain the appearance and safety of the home and vehicles; participate in trainings.
