Job summary

Abilities First, Inc. is seeking multiple Residential Coaches (DSPs) in Wappingers Falls, NY. The role involves supervising residents, delivering training in daily living skills, safety, and health care while supporting individual outcomes.

This full and part-time position emphasizes independence, self-determination, and community integration. Responsibilities include documentation, medication assistance, and collaboration with the treatment team.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience assisting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Clean NYS driver’s license required (age 21+).
• Certifications: SCIP-R, CPR, SFA, and Medication Administration certification preferred or required where possible.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of residents and support participation.
• Provide training in basic skills, social behaviors, safety, and personal care.
• Administer medications to non-self-medicating residents when needed.
• Document attendance, notes, and log entries of activities and progress.
• Coordinate with treatment team to implement individual plans and promote independence.
