Job summary

Prince William County is seeking a Residential Assistant Real Estate Assessments Manager in Woodbridge, Virginia. This supervisory role oversees 2-4 appraisal staff performing professional work in real property appraisal for assessment purposes, including residential and vacant land.

You will train new residential appraisers, supervise day-to-day operations, conduct complex property appraisals, and provide customer assistance regarding appraisal processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 7 years combined assessment and supervisory experience, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience and at least 3 years of property appraisal for ad valorem tax purposes.
  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical or related field preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, meticulous; excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent supervisory and teamwork skills; strong statistical analysis abilities.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.

  • Supervise staff, prioritizing, scheduling, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Train all new residential appraisers.
  • Conduct complex appraisals of real property and perform appraisal reviews.

Job description

The Real Estate Assessments Office of Prince William County government is searching for a Residential Assistant Real Estate Assessments Manager in Woodbridge, Virginia. This position supervises 2-4 appraisal staff who perform professional work in the appraisal of real property (residential and vacant land) for assessment purposes.

About This Role

This is a supervisory position that is responsible for analyzing property values, training new residential appraisers, and supervising subordinate staff members and department projects.

They Will
  • Supervise staff, including day-to-day operations as well as prioritizing, assigning and scheduling work and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Train all new residential appraisers.
  • Conducts complex appraisals of real property and appraisal reviews.
  • Provides customer assistance to citizens, other departments or other parties regarding appraisal processes.
  • Make hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and 7 years of combined assessment and supervisory experience, to include at least 2 years of supervisory experience and at least 3 years of experience appraising property for ad valorem tax purposes.

Special Requirements

The Selected Candidate is required to complete a Statement of Economic Interests pursuant to Va. Code 2.2-3114, 2.2-3115, and 2.2-3116.

Work Schedule

In person Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00 at our Woodbridge office.

Hiring Salary Range

$82,777.50 to $111,033.00/yr.
