Job summary

Johnson County Government seeks a Team Leader for its Developmental Supports (JCDS) residential services division to coordinate and supervise the delivery of supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The role emphasizes person-centered planning, behavior supports, staff mentoring, data accuracy, and quality assurance, with duties including team meetings, training, data review, and collaboration with families, guardians, and case managers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Five (5) years of human services or relevant experience.
• Three (3) years experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities/developmental disabilities or other vulnerable population.
• Must be able to successfully complete JCDS training (Medication Administration, CPR, First Aid, MANDT, ANE, etc.).
• Candidate must be able to successfully complete criminal and motor vehicle background screenings, which includes KDADS required screenings and registry checks.

Responsibilities

• Leads the development of a High Performing Organization through active demonstration of the county's Pillars of Performance; mentors, coaches and collaborates with staff to advance the county mission.
• Provides leadership to Direct Support Professionals in Person Centered Planning and Positive Behavior Supports; trains staff on plans and behavior supports; reviews plans and data collection for accuracy.
• Provides quality assurance for service delivery; conducts team meetings; monitors requests and budgets; ensures health and safety priorities and on-call coverage.
• Engages in Program Development and Strategic Residential Services; collaborates with community organizations to promote community integration and continuous improvement.
