Job summary

Sunrise Group seeks a Direct Support professional to provide supervision and care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a supportive home environment.

You will supervise and mentor staff, ensure safety and compliance, and help implement individualized plans. This role requires strong communication, a valid driver’s license, and dedication to person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings are required
• Valid Driver’s License meeting company standards for approved driver status
• Basic computer skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of experience in the human service field preferred
• At least one year of supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Identifies and reports suspected abuse or rights violations
• Ensures health, safety and well-being of individuals at all times
• Supervises and supports a team of staff providing care to individuals with disabilities
• Provides training and constructive feedback through positive interactions, role modeling and mentoring
• Ensures implementation of therapy, training and behavior programs and data collection
• Maintains a positive, person-centered home environment with creative activities
• Communicates with staff regarding medical care, supports and services
• Performs all other duties as assigned
