Job summary

Island Federal Credit Union in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a full-time Residential Servicer to oversee all residential loan servicing activities, including first mortgages, home equity products, and lines of credit, while supporting Home Lending and Accounting.

You will work across branches, manage escrow accounts, process payoffs, issue adverse action notices, perform quality control, and coordinate with external agencies such as Fannie Mae and the FHA/REML.

Qualifications

• Specialized lending training is required.
• 1–2 years’ experience in financial matters or equivalent
• 5–10 years in commercial lending preferred in a credit union setting

Responsibilities

• Servicing all residential real estate loans including first mortgages and home equity products.
• Utilize BytePro, FICS, DU and related software to support servicing operations.
• Manage escrow accounts, deposits, disbursements, and annual escrow analyses.
• Handle servicing and sale of mortgage loans to external agencies (Fannie Mae, FHLB).
• Perform quality control reviews on originated real estate loans for compliance and accuracy.
• Process reversals of residential loan payments and issue payoffs.
• Ensure issuance of real estate loan satisfactions and adverse action notices.
• Prepare correspondence for Members and external agencies; support mortgage and home equity tasks.
• Cross-sell credit union products to meet Members’ financial needs.
• Work at various branch locations as required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESIDENTIAL SERVICER

SUMMARY:

Oversee all servicing functions within the Residential Servicing Department, while also providing administrative support to the Home Lending, Accounting Department, and other departments as needed, in the processing and management of all aspects of residential loan servicing, including Home Equity Loans, Lines of Credit, and the credit union’s mortgage portfolio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Servicing all residential real estate loans, including first mortgages and home equity products.
• Efficiently utilize systems such as BytePro, FICS, Desktop Underwriter, and other relevant software to support servicing operations.
• Manage escrow accounts, including handling deposits and disbursements. Compile and analyze escrow data to prepare annual escrow analyses and ensure timely payment of property taxes to the appropriate municipalities.
• Handle the servicing and sale of mortgage loans to external agencies, including Fannie Mae and FHLB.
• Conduct quality control reviews on all originated real estate loans to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Handle reversals of all Residential loan payments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Issue and process Residential loan payoffs.
• Ensure issuance of all Real Estate loan satisfactions.
• Prepare, mail, and track adverse action notices and other required Member notifications for Residential Loans.
• Collaborate with the other departments on mortgage and home equity-related tasks, and prepare correspondence for Members and external agencies as needed.
• Provide support to Members by addressing inquiries related to existing real estate loans.
• Actively cross-sell credit union products and services, including deposit accounts and loan products, to meet Members’ financial needs and enhance their overall financial well-being.
• Work at various branch locations as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Specialized training in lending.
• 1-2 years’ experience working with financial matters.
• or a combination of education and experience
• 5-10 years working in commercial lending, preferably in a Credit Union setting.
• NMLS registration
• Notary Public License
