Job summary

At S&J Plumbing in Arlington Heights, IL, we’re seeking experienced Residential Service Plumbers who want to control their income and be supported in the field. You’ll diagnose issues, present fixes, and deliver high-quality repairs while building homeowner trust.

You’ll earn through a flexible pay structure including 100% commission option with up to 24% commission, plus bonuses and benefits. Top performers can reach high earnings with overtime and company support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of residential plumbing experience (service-focused preferred).
• Illinois plumbing license preferred (3rd-year apprentice considered).
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and build trust with customers.
• Sales-minded approach with a focus on helping—not pressuring.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Positive attitude and team-first mindset.
• Military experience welcomed and encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair residential plumbing systems.
• Present options to customers and help them make confident buying decisions.
• Install, maintain, and repair water and gas lines, fixtures, and appliances.
• Ensure all work meets local codes and quality standards.
• Manage your calls efficiently and work independently in the field.
• Communicate with dispatch, managers, and support teams.
• Complete job documentation accurately and on time.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and workspace.
• Attend ongoing training to sharpen skills and increase performance.
