Job Title: RST Agent – Experience Required

Location: Tahoe, NV

Job Type: Full time, with full benefits

Compensation: $43.78 hourly with built in overtime

FLSA: Non-exempt

Job Summary

Reporting to the Residential Security Agent Team Lead, the Agent provides safe and secure transportation while supporting the Residential Security Team. This role operates in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and requires maturity, adaptability, and a client‑focused, concierge mindset. Ideal candidates have prior Residential Security Agent experience in a dedicated driver role and/or have completed tactical or principal driving training, with a strong knowledge of preferred routes and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of designated principals and their properties.
  • Maintain a knowledge of baseline principal, property and neighborhood activities.
  • Monitor property and area activities and conditions via closed‑circuit television camera system and physical perimeter checks.
  • Monitor traditional and social media for potential threats.
  • Control access to properties and maintain security logs for guests, service personnel, and vendors.
  • Screen and track mail and deliveries.
  • Monitor weather and natural disasters.
  • Monitor traffic.
  • Monitor public safety incidents and trends.
  • Monitor neighborhood watch programs.
  • Monitor local and national current events.
  • Coordinate with site staff to accomplish common tasks.
  • Complete daily household tasks and maintenance as requested by principals.
  • Ensure 24/7 operational readiness through stocking supplies and equipment upkeep.
  • Operate within parameters established by standard operating procedures and applicable laws.
  • Coordinate with and support executive protection element of the team.
  • Provide opportunities for driving and special off‑site assignments/detailing.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in use and proper maintenance for all equipment (i.e., vehicles, medical supplies, communications devices, etc.).
  • Travel locally approximately 5%–10% of the time to other RST sites or principal destinations.
  • Be flexible and open to working overtime shifts whether night or day, coming in early and staying late as needed.
  • Possess the ability to multitask in a very fast‑paced environment.
  • Remain vigilant while sitting in a vehicle or security office for extended periods.
  • Be a proactive problem solver with the capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understand the latest technology in security camera systems, smartphones, communications, and collaboration apps (Google Drive, Word, Excel & Power Point).
  • Be dog friendly.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
  • Remain responsive via phone call, text, and email as needed to support the team.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, superiors, peers, vendors, and neighbors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Capable of regular, non‑technical vehicle maintenance (replace wiper fluid, maintain proper tire inflation, etc.).
  • Be a reliable team member and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Flexible with the need to work overtime with or without advanced notice.
  • Communicate over radios, phone, email, text, and in‑person; be personable and interact effectively with clients, superiors, peers, vendors, and neighbors.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Drive in all weather conditions.
  • Understand the latest technology in security camera systems, smartphones, push‑to‑talk radios, GPS devices, communications, and collaboration apps (Google Drive, Word, Excel & Power Point).
  • Remain professional and courteous at all times.
  • Decipher GPS traffic notifications and plan safest routes to take.
  • Operate independently without constant guidance.
  • Maintain rational behavior and stay calm under stressful driving conditions; refrain from using inappropriate language.
  • Follow instructions and requests without complaint or unsolicited conversation with principals/passengers.
  • Prohibit use of alcohol or medications that impair driving ability.
Position Qualifications, Certificates and Licenses
  • 2+ years of residential security experience.
  • 2–4+ years of combined experience in relevant security, military, and/or law enforcement positions (preferred).
  • Physically fit to facilitate emergency responses.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
  • American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED for Adult, Child & Infant certification.
  • California BSIS Guard Card.
  • Nevada PLIB Work Card.
  • California BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit.
  • Successfully pass an EMT course.
  • All certifications must be current; employees must keep certifications/licenses active.
Physical Requirements
  • Patrol the property and access areas quickly.
  • Capture and detain individuals if necessary.
  • Prolonged periods sitting in a car or at a desk monitoring surveillance equipment (up to 5+ hours).
  • Prolonged periods standing on feet without a break (4–5+ hours).
  • Lift 50 pounds at a time.
  • Lift, drag a human up to 200 lbs or more if necessary.
  • Respond to physical attacks, natural disasters, evacuations.
  • Regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands/manual dexterity, reach or stretch, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; speak or hear.
  • Be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
Detail Structure
  • Full‑time position.
  • Schedule: 3 days on, 6 days off.
  • Shift length: 12 hours/day.
  • Weekends.
  • Holidays.
  • Overtime/additional shifts as needed, with or without notice.
  • Local travel driving principals and their guests.
