Pottstown Construction Company in Montgomery County, PA is seeking a dependable Residential Remodeling Laborer to support a range of home renovation projects, focusing on carpentry, cabinet installation, plumbing, and basic electrical work.

You will work independently and with a team, measure and install cabinets, perform demolition and finish carpentry, and help keep job sites safe and organized. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential remodeling and cabinet installation.
• Knowledge of kitchen cabinet layout, preparation, installation, alignment, and finishing.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical construction work.
• Hands-on experience with plumbing and electrical tasks within typical remodels.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential remodeling including demolition, framing, finish carpentry, and installation of fixtures and materials.
• Install kitchen cabinets according to layouts and manufacturer specs.
• Measure and level cabinets, align and fasten base and wall cabinets.
• Install cabinet doors, drawers, handles, trim, and hardware.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Residential Remodeling Laborer to join our team. This hands‑on position supports a variety of home renovation projects, with an emphasis on carpentry, kitchen cabinet installation, general plumbing, basic electrical work, and residential remodeling.

The ideal candidate has experience in multiple areas of residential construction, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and works well independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential remodeling work, including demolition, framing, finish carpentry, and the installation of fixtures and building materials.
• Install kitchen cabinets according to approved layouts and manufacturer specifications.
• Measure and mark cabinet layouts and properly level, plumb, shim, align, and securely fasten base and wall cabinets.
• Install cabinet doors, drawer fronts, handles, pulls, trim, filler strips, toe kicks, and related hardware.
• Adjust cabinet doors and drawers to ensure proper operation and consistent spacing.
• Complete general plumbing tasks associated with remodeling projects.
• Install and connect tub and shower drains, shower valves and bodies, vanities, sinks, faucets, and toilets.
• Assist with plumbing repairs, replacements, and fixture testing.
• Perform basic electrical tasks, such as replacing GFCI outlets and standard receptacles, updating switches, and replacing light fixtures.
• Test completed installations, identify problems, and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood structures and other construction components.
• Prepare job sites by organizing tools and materials and setting up required safety equipment.
• Follow project plans, manufacturer instructions, applicable building codes, and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople, and other team members to keep projects on schedule.
• Protect clients’ homes and belongings and maintain a professional presence on every job site.
• Perform plumbing and electrical work only within the scope permitted by applicable laws, licensing requirements, and company policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in residential remodeling, carpentry, cabinet installation, general plumbing, basic electrical work, or a related construction trade.
• Knowledge of kitchen cabinet layout, preparation, installation, alignment, and finishing.
• Ability to accurately level, plumb, shim, align, and securely fasten kitchen cabinets.
• Hands‑on experience installing tubs, showers, drains, shower valves and bodies, vanities, sinks, faucets, and toilets.
• Experience replacing electrical receptacles, including GFCI outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
• Working knowledge of residential construction methods, basic plumbing and electrical systems, hand tools, power tools, and job‑site safety.
• Ability to take accurate measurements and perform basic construction calculations.
• Ability to troubleshoot common remodeling, cabinet, plumbing, and electrical issues.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, cabinet layouts, or project plans is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to perform physical construction work for extended periods and lift and carry heavy materials, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites is required.
