Job summary

Model Remodel, a Seattle-based general contractor specializing in high-quality residential remodeling, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. This role collaborates with designers, sales, and production to shape projects from concept through construction.

You’ll be detail-driven and organized, delivering accurate estimates at multiple stages and supporting value engineering to optimize cost and client satisfaction. This in-office role requires strong communication across teams.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience estimating residential remodeling projects.
• Experience with high-end or custom home renovations preferred.
• Proficiency interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs and evaluating subcontractor and vendor proposals.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 Suite.
• Experience with construction project management software such as Construction Online, Buildertrend, Procore, or similar.
• Ability to support value engineering and communicate cost impacts clearly.
• Highly organized with strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
• Collaborative communicator with Sales Representatives, designers, and production teams.
• Commitment to professionalism, accuracy, and continuous improvement of estimating practices.

• Perform quantity takeoffs and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for scope and accuracy.
• Support value engineering and clearly communicate cost impacts of design or scope changes.
• Maintain organization and meet multiple deadlines across estimates.
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure client satisfaction.

This role is ideal for a seasoned estimating professional who enjoys collaborating with designers, sales, and production teams to shape projects from early concept through construction.

We’re looking for someone who is detail‑driven, organized, and confident in their technical expertise, with a clear understanding that a well‑developed estimate is the foundation of a successful project and a great client experience.

Job Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience estimating residential remodeling projects, preferably in high-end or custom home renovation.
• Green/sustainable building experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Proven ability to prepare accurate estimates at multiple stages, from conceptual pricing through detailed construction budgets.
• Proficiency reviewing and interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
• Demonstrated experience performing quantity takeoffs and evaluating subcontractor and vendor proposals for scope and accuracy.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 Suite is required.
• Experience with construction project management software such as Construction Online, Buildertrend, Procore, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Ability to support value engineering and clearly communicate cost impacts of design or scope changes.
• Highly organized with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
• Ability to navigate uneven terrain, stairs, and confined spaces.
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds.
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.
• Must be able to work at a computer or desk area for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to use a computer and see color.

This is primarily an in‑office role based in Seattle, with an approximate 65/35 office‑to‑field split. After an introductory period, a limited hybrid schedule may be considered.
