Chestnut Health Systems Inc. in Maryville, IL is seeking a part-time/PRN Client Care Technician or Recovery Support Technician to support clients on their recovery journey.

You will help with daily activities, meals, and observing medications under supervision. Responsibilities include intake and orientation for new clients, transporting to appointments, coordinating with the clinical team, documenting safety checks, and protecting privacy.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess a minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree; or a total of 5 years’ experience and college combined.
• Valid driver’s license and be insurable.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and an electronic medical record.

Responsibilities

• Guide the Recovery Journey: support clients by observing progress and reporting on personal goals.
• Promote empowerment using a recovery-first mindset and trauma-informed care.
• Lead daily activities with the clinical team to keep routines on track.
• Mealtime and wellness: assist with meals and observe medication administration when needed.
• Welcome new clients and orient them to program rules and room setup.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments and community events.
• Team coverage: back up Residential Recovery staff as needed.
• Monitor facility safety, document safety checks, and ensure smooth shift handoffs.

We are seeking flexible team members to provide coverage across three shifts. This position can be filled as either a Client Care Technician or a Recovery Support Technician. Chestnut Health Systems™ is a leading provider of integrated health care services. We provide fully integrated care for all our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Chestnut also conducts research and training throughout the U.S.A. Shift Availability & Pay

• Weekday Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Weekday Evening Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
• Shift Differential: Evening, overnight, and weekend shifts qualify for extra pay.

Position Requirements

• Minimum Commitment: Must work a minimum of 2 shifts per month.
• Onboarding: Ability to train twice a week when starting.

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $17.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

Client Support & Engagement

• Guide the Recovery Journey:Support clients by observing their progress, stepping in when needed, and reporting on how they are meeting their personal goals.

• Promote Empowerment:Use a "recovery-first" mindset that emphasizes hope and respect. You’ll help clients regain control of their lives through trauma-informed care and supportive language.

• Lead Daily Activities:Work with the clinical team to facilitate scheduled group activities and keep the daily routine on track.

• Mealtime & Wellness:Assist with meal preparation and join clients during mealtimes. When nursing staff aren't available, you will observe clients as they take their prescribed medications, following all safety protocols.

Admissions & Logistics

• Welcome New Clients:Assist with the intake process by orienting new arrivals to program rules, helping them settle into their rooms, and conducting an inventory of their belongings.

• Provide Transportation:Drive clients to medical appointments, recreational outings, and other necessary community events.

• Team Coverage:Act as a backup for Residential Recovery staff to ensure every individual entering treatment feels welcomed and supported.

Safety & Communication

• Monitor Facility Safety:Maintain a secure environment by monitoring surveillance equipment, answering calls, and reporting any facility issues immediately.

• Document & Report:Keep accurate records of safety checks, shift logs, and incident reports. You’ll also ensure a smooth "hand-off" during shift changes by providing thorough updates and client counts to the incoming team.

• Maintain Professionalism:Uphold Chestnut’s standards for excellent customer service and strictly protect the confidentiality of all client and organizational information.

• Adapt as Needed:Handle other duties as they arise or as coordinated with your supervisor to keep the program running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old. Must possess a minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

• Various other certifications will be required depending on experience level.
• Personal experience with recovery process and willingness to discuss it as appropriate.
• Demonstrated skills in human services and in services to adults.
• Demonstrated ability to work within organizational structure.
• Ability to accept supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to work constructively with consumers, treatment resources, and the community.
• Valid driver’s license, private auto insurance, and be insurable.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and an electronic medical record.
