Job summary

Groden Residential in Rhode Island is seeking a Full-Time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support young adults with autism in a group home setting. This role provides direct support under BCBA supervision, with shifts covering mornings, evenings, and nights as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Current RBT certification in good standing.
• Experience supporting individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and/or behavioral needs preferred.
• Education Requirement: High School diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak in English proficiently.
• Ability to intervene with clients when needed to implement behavioral strategies including physical restraint, lifting and transporting in personal vehicle or company van.
• Strong communication, observation, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals during residential shifts while modeling effective clinical and residential practices.
• Support new and existing staff through hands‑on practice during routines, transitions, ADLs, community activities, and higher‑risk situations.
• Develop confident and competent staff through hands‑on modeling, coaching, encouragement, and constructive feedback during residential shifts.
• Help new staff apply training to the needs of individuals and daily routines of each home consistently.
• Build positive relationships with staff and individuals while maintaining professional boundaries, dignity, respect, and a person‑centered approach.
• Recognize staff strengths and areas for growth and provide positive, respectful coaching to improve performance.
• Serve as a dependable resource during challenging situations while respecting the roles of BCBA, Residential Managers, and Program Leadership.
• Model proactive behavior‑support and Safety‑Care strategies, including prevention, de‑escalation, Help‑Prompt‑Wait, safe body positioning, and appropriate staff placement.
• Support accurate data collection, documentation, and maintenance of clinical materials and visual supports.
• Participate in required meetings, training, and program improvement activities and perform other residential duties as assigned.
• Promote dignity, independence, communication, community participation, and development of daily living skills.
