Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Psychiatric Technician for residential addiction programs within the Psychiatry department. The role supports individualized treatment and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

The position emphasizes direct and indirect patient care, safety, and engagement in milieu activities under RN supervision, with opportunities for professional growth and certification maintenance. Full-time role with a 12-hour shift pattern.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a mental health or behavioral assistant working with adults and/or children is preferred.
• Basic computer and keyboarding competence, ability to use Microsoft Office suite and electronic clinic documentation.
• Must be free from problematic substance use for a minimum of the immediately preceding two years at time of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support Residential Addiction programs and may float to other residential programs within Psychiatry.
• Assist residents in social, clinical, nutritional, and observational activities to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Lead social activities, games and crafts that promote engagement in therapy concepts.
• Provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
