Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is hiring a Psychiatric Technician to support residential addiction programs within the Psychiatry department. Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent. At least 21 years of age.
• Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a mental health or behavioral assistant working with adults and/or children - OR - completion of 12 college credits preferred.
• Experience with 24/7 residential programs or psychiatry & psychology-based programs preferred.
• Basic skills in cleaning, cooking, and meal preparation.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations in stressful and ambiguous situations.
• Basic computer and keyboarding competence with the ability to use Microsoft Office suite.
• Demonstrates ability to multi-task under stressful situations.
• Other required training (first aid, food safety, comorbid disorders, trauma-informed care offered after hire and must be completed within first 90 days).
• As a condition of employment, individuals working with addictions services must be free from problematic substance use for a minimum of the immediately preceding two years at time of hire.
• License or Certification: Valid driver’s license, and acceptable driving record as defined by policy.
• If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support certification will be included as part of the orientation program. Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsabilités

• Addictions treatment programs at Mayo Clinic take an individualized holistic approach within a respectful, professional environment. Patients are treated by multidisciplinary care teams which ensures each patient receives comprehensive treatment that addresses alcohol and/or other substance abuse, emotional health, and spiritual wellbeing.
• The Psychiatric Technician is an integral member of the psychiatric residential, hospital-based psych emergency services team and participates in both direct and indirect patient care for adults and children. They promote involvement in the treatment program and assist residents in social, clinical, nutritional, and observational activities to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safe milieu.
