High-Level Description

The Residential Program Manager position is responsible for direct oversight of one or more residential group homes providing service to individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities or on the autism spectrum.

To be successful in this role, the incumbent must be highly organized, possess solid technical and software skills, be adaptable, and have strong leadership skills. A knowledge of the State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services’ (DDS) regulations and policies, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with multiple team members and departments is required.

Salary

Level 2 Program Oversight: $62,000 - $65,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities
  • Group Home Oversight / Management:
    • Responsible for the daily operations and management of one or more group homes.
    • Ensure adequate 24/7 staffing coverage by managing staff scheduling and supervision ratios.
    • Plan and assign work to employees to ensure the completion of tasks related to support and services for individuals served.
    • Ensure compliance with all DDS, agency, and other regulatory oversight policies and procedures.
    • Develop and implement effective operational procedures as needed.
    • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
    • Utilize company systems, software, and processes, ensuring staff use them correctly.
  • Individuals Care:
    • Ensure individuals’ needs are met consistently in accordance with their plans, supporting medical, behavioral, vocational, transportation, and other needs.
    • Maintain and update individuals’ plans as required by state and agency requirements.
    • Assist and instruct individuals in daily living activities and community participation.
    • Provide direct care coverage as needed.
  • Team Leadership / Management:
    • Direct oversight of Direct Support Professionals, including scheduling, performance management, and employee development.
    • Ensure team members have all required trainings and certifications.
    • Lead team meetings and provide necessary information for successful performance.
    • Facilitate staff training as needed.
  • Business Partner Relationships and Communications:
    • Establish successful working relationships with sister teams and departments.
    • Communicate regularly with management on program performance, successes, and issues.
    • Partner with other leaders and administrative team members to share expertise and insights.
    • Identify and participate in projects or initiatives that contribute to long-term excellence and individuals’ growth.
  • Other:
    • Develop an understanding of the workings of each department and team in the company.
    • Perform special projects or assignments as needed.
    • Use technology to complete specified job duties.
    • Perform on-call duties and respond to on-site emergencies as assigned.
  • Additional Required Responsibilities:
    • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (local travel using company vehicles).
    • Be flexible and willing to work weekends and holidays.
    • Provide 2nd shift presence based on residential needs.
    • Participate in a rotating on-call staffing schedule.
    • Perform unannounced 3rd shift spot checks at group home locations.
    • Undergo skill-based assessments.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of intellectual developmental disabilities, including agency relationships, regulations, funding guidelines, and program models (cla's, CRS's, IHS). A plus.
  • Associate degree or currently working toward a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of two years’ management experience, preferably in the human services field.
  • Solid command of Microsoft 365 (Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with Paycom and Therap is a plus.
