Job summary

Waystone Health & Human Services seeks a Residential Group Home Program Manager to oversee a four-to-eight resident home, develop ISPs, and lead a team of direct care professionals to promote independence and belonging.

You will manage clinical coordination with nurses, clinicians, and day programming, ensuring high-quality care, compliant documentation, and family communication. The role includes 24/7 on-call readiness and on-site supervision in Salisbury, MA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field may substitute for required experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED with at least three years’ experience with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
  • Supervisory and administrative experience in residential or human services settings.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to follow ISP and document services.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; problem-solving.
  • MAP Certification; training offered within 6 months.
  • CPR/First Aid; training offered within 3 months.
  • Valid driver's license and driving experience; ability to train staff on wheelchair-accessible vans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management systems (HCSIS, Ehana, Relias).

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train and coach staff; ensure training requirements are met.
  • Develop and implement Individual Support Plans with clinical team.
  • Ensure quality health care and timely medical appointments for individuals.
  • Coordinate with families and guardians; prepare for meetings.
  • Update records (medication lists, orders, medical documentation).
  • Provide emergency and on-call coverage and manage shift coverage.

Residential Group Home Program Manager

As our Residential Program Manager, you will manage all aspects of the group home. The house consists of four to eight Individuals, ages 22 and up, with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will develop Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and work with your team of direct care professionals to increase each person’s level of independence and sense of belonging.

Location: Salisbury, MA (Group home setting)

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm. Overseeing 24/7 operations, you will have on-call responsibilities and will need to be flexible for evening, weekend and holiday coverage.

Compensation range: This is a 40-hour exempt full-time position. The annualized salary will be $46,800 – $52,264. This position is benefit eligible as of date of hire.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Hire, train and coach staff, ensure all program staff training requirements are met and maintained. Provide ongoing supervision, feedback, and performance support to team members.
  • Develop and implement Individual Support Plans for each person served in collaboration with the clinical team. Train and monitor staff to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
  • Ensure quality health care for each individual - Promote a healthy lifestyle within the home. Ensure timely scheduling and completion of all routine and follow-up medical appointments. Monitor that all medical and clinical recommendations are followed by all staff. Collaborate with all service providers; Nurses, Clinicians and Day Programming to meet behavioral and medical needs.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with family members and guardians. Communicate proactively and professionally regarding individual care. Coordinate and prepare for family and team meetings as needed. Train staff in best practices for working with families.
  • Ensure records are updated as required (medication lists, doctor’s orders and medical documentation). Oversee medication orders and administration through daily and weekly checks.
  • Provide emergency and on-call coverage as needed. Respond to incidents, manage call-outs, schedule per diem staff, complete on-call reports, and provide shift coverage if necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field may substitute for required experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED with at least three years’ experience working with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
  • Supervisory and administrative experience in a residential or human services setting with a proven ability to foster a supportive and collaborative environment for staff and Individuals.
  • Candidates must be able to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow the Individual Service Plan (ISP), document services provided, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; skilled in problem-solving.
  • MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 6 months of employment.
  • CPR/First Aid; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 3 months of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with at least one year of driving experience. Must be able to drive and train staff on the use of wheelchair-accessible vans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer literacy, including experience with data management systems and recordkeeping platforms, such as HCSIS, Ehana, and Relias.
