Job summary

Waystone Health & Human Services in Methuen, MA is seeking residential skills instructors and Awake Overnight staff to support four adults in activities of daily living. You will assist with hygiene, meals, and mobility, and help coordinate transportation to appointments and activities.

The role requires empathy, reliability, and strong documentation skills, with MAP and CPR/First Aid training offered after hire. A unionized, nonprofit setting offers growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans and document services.
• Experience with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• MAP Certification training available within 6 months of employment.
• CPR/First Aid training provided within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, feeding and grooming.
• Transport individuals using wheelchair accessible vans to appointments and community activities.
• Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) and track progress toward personal goals.
• Complete daily logs and notes, and monitor behavioral data.

Part Time less than 25 hours per week

This position is not benefit eligible.

• Monday - Friday 5:00pm - 9:00pm
• Tuesday 9:00am - 3:00pm, Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm & Saturday 9:00am - 3:00pm
• Wednesday 9:00am - 3:00pm, Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Sunday 9:00am - 3:00pm

Compensation

These are non-exempt full-time/part-time positions. The hourly rate is $21.63. You will be a union member to SEIU Local 509.

Group Home Details

As a residential skills instructor or Awake Overnight staff, you will be assisting 4 individuals ranging from ages 22 and up, with their activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as - feeding, cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene assistance, documentation, and medication administration. You will use a wheelchair van to transport individuals to appointments and community activities. During the overnight hours, you will also be responsible for remaining alert and attentive, conducting routine wellness checks on individuals, and providing personal care support, including toileting assistance and brief changes as needed. Job Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene assistance (toileting assistant/brief changing), bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, transferring, and meal preparation.
• Able and willing to assist with heavy lifting and driving wheelchair accessible company vans. Responsible for transporting our individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.
• Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) to support our individuals in achieving personal goals and promoting independence.
• Complete daily logs and notes, track behavioral data.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist with medication administration and maintain accurate documentation, as required.
• Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirecting behaviors.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential program.
• Uphold individual's rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Maintaining the program's staff to resident ratio, money management, providing home management, and redirecting behaviors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Candidates must be able to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans, document services provided, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Experience in providing training, case management and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community.
• MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 6 months of employment.
• CPR/First Aid; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 3 months of employment.
• Valid Driver’s License in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.
