Job summary

Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital in St. Louis, MO seeks a full-time social worker for its Residential Treatment Program serving youth 13-17 with serious mental illness and trauma history.

We operate under the Sanctuary Model to promote healing, safety, and nonviolence; license in Social Work (MSW/LMSW/LCSW) is required or eligible, with LCSW preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree and/or license in Social Work (MSW, LMSW, or LCSW). LCSW preferred.
• Missouri licensure required or provisionally credentialed candidates acceptable.
• Experience with youth and families in mental health settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments (initial and annual).
• Complete admission and discharge paperwork.
• Provide individual and family therapy and lead therapeutic groups with documentation.
• Write monthly/weekly progress notes for clients.
• Provide case management services including discharge planning.
• Conduct suicide and other risk assessments as needed.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to orient and document treatment.
• Participate in discharge and legal processes as necessary.
• Disseminate pertinent information within and outside the facility.

Sr. Clinical Caseworker (MSW): $2,630.00 semi-monthly

Sr. Clinical Caseworker (LMSW): $2,715.55 semi-monthly

Licensed Clinical Social Worker: $3,261.00 semi-monthly

Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital is seeking a full-time social worker for our Residential Treatment Program. Our Residential Program serves youth age 13-17 with serious mental illness often comorbid with a history of trauma.

Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital uses the Sanctuary Model to guide our interactions with our teammates and the care we provide to our consumers to promote healing, safety, and nonviolence. This is accomplished by following the foundations of the Sanctuary Model to provide trauma informed and responsive care.

• Conduct comprehensive Biopsychosocial Assessments (Initial and Annual)
• Complete admission and discharge paperwork.
• Provide individual and family therapy and lead therapeutic groups, completing corresponding documentation.
• Write monthly/weekly summary progress notes for clients.
• Provide case management services to assigned clients and their families/guardians including discharge planning.
• Conduct suicide risk and other risk assessments as needed.

Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team on a routine basis to provide,

document, and orient treatment.

• Participate in discharge and legal processes as necessary.
• Disseminate pertinent information to vested departments within and outside the facility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Prior experience providing services for individuals, preferably youth and families, with

severe and persistent mental health conditions

Working knowledge of DSM, evidence-based practices and social work ethics are strongly

encouraged.

Degree and/or License in Social Work (MSW, LMSW, or LCSW). LCSW preferred

But Will Consider Candidates Who Meet The Minimum Qualifications.

Provisionally and fully credentialed candidates must be professionally licensed in

Missouri.
