Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama, is seeking a Mental Health Associate to provide direct care to residents with psychiatric disorders and to help ensure their safety and well-being.

You will support daily activities, facilitate groups, and follow therapeutic approaches under the supervision of the Group Leader, Assistant Group Leader, or Shift Supervisor. Prior experience in residential behavioral health is preferred.

Qualifications

• Detailed and organized with strong documentation skills.
• Able to safely monitor residents and perform physical management techniques and crisis intervention.
• Experience in a residential mental/behavioral health setting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to residents with psychiatric disorders to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Primary responsibility for ensuring residents’ safety on the unit using a therapeutic approach to tasks including assistance with daily activities and facilitation of groups.
