Precision Plumbing and Heating Systems, Traverse City, MI, is seeking an experienced Residential Mechanical Estimator to support our custom home division across Northwest Michigan. You will evaluate plans, develop accurate estimates, and prepare compelling bids for high-end projects.

You will review drawings, specs, and scopes of work, design duct layouts, and collaborate with builders, developers, and our internal teams to ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical systems for residential projects.
• Experience with custom home construction and reviewing plans.
• Ability to read blueprints, specs, and construction documents.
• Strong math, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with estimating software and construction tech platforms.

Responsibilities

• Review residential construction plans, blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Develop accurate plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical system estimates for custom home projects.
• Prepare detailed proposals, budgets, and bid packages for builders and developers.
• Analyze project requirements and identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization.
• Design and evaluate ductwork layouts while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, field leaders, and operations teams during planning.

Precision Plumbing and Heating Systems is seeking an experienced Residential Mechanical Estimator to support our growing custom home construction division throughout Northwest Michigan. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented estimating professional with experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical systems who enjoys working with builders, reviewing construction plans, developing accurate project estimates, and helping bring high-end residential projects to life.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, or related construction systems required
• Residential new construction or custom home construction experience strongly preferred
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
• Knowledge of plumbing systems, HVAC systems, ductwork design, and residential construction practices
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and construction technology platforms
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
