The B. F. Saul Company seeks a Maintenance Technician for The Waycroft in Arlington, VA, reporting to the Chief Engineer.

You will support property maintenance, respond to resident service requests, and contribute to renovations and turnovers to uphold premium living standards. Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years of engineering experience, hands-on skills in HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and painting, and a commitment to exceptional resident service.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and move appliances safely.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chief Engineer with maintaining property and handling resident service requests.

• Support turnovers and renovations of apartments; ensure 24/7 coverage expectations.

Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining the property and providing superior customer service to all residents.

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer in maintaining the property: processing all resident service requests in a timely manner, perform preventative maintenance duties and unit inspections, troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and painting; and performing turnovers and renovation of apartments.

*Attendance is essential to this position. The community is open 24/7, weekend work or overnight hours may be expected.

Requirements

As a Maintenance Technician you will need three to five (3-5) years of engineering experience with strong customer service skills and a high school diploma. You must be able to lift (60 lbs.) and safely move appliances, comfortable working with heights up to 25 feet, experience in multifamily or hospitality environments preferred, but not required.

$28 - $33 an hour

The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. Base pay is one component of The Residential Division's total compensation package, which also includes access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, incentive plans and more.
