Gates Hudson is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day maintenance of one of our residential communities in Columbia, Maryland. The role focuses on corrective and preventative tasks to keep living spaces safe and well-maintained for residents.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and skilled in a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general upkeep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in residential property management.
• Ability to perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance on apartments, buildings, and common areas.
• Complete service requests promptly and efficiently.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, flooring, and related systems.
• Perform unit turnovers and prepare apartments for new residents.
• Maintain organized stock rooms, tools, and maintenance areas.
• Track inventory and report shortages.
• Follow key control, reporting, and documentation procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
