Job summary

AvalonBay Communities in Sunnyvale, CA seeks a Porter/Maintenance Technician I to maintain interior/exterior areas per safety standards. This full-time role includes custodial and light maintenance duties, with a 40-hour work week and the opportunity to contribute to a pristine living environment for residents.

Responsibilities include cleaning, ground upkeep, responding to safety concerns, and assisting with resident moves.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year of custodial/maintenance experience.
• Valid driver''s license.
• Ability to communicate with associates and residents.
• Ability to read and understand policies and procedures (SDS, PPE, etc).
• Knowledge of PPE and proper chemical handling.
• Basic understanding of emergency systems and paint tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of common areas, lobbies, hallways, elevators and amenities.
• Clean and sanitize high-traffic areas.
• Maintain outdoor spaces including landscaping and sidewalks.
• Ensure trash and recycling areas are tidy and emptied regularly.
• Inspect for maintenance or safety concerns and report them.
• Assist residents with moving in/out and help with loading/unloading.
