Job summary

Bender Companies is seeking a hands-on Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our Richton Park community. The role focuses on troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and timely service completion to keep residents’ homes in excellent condition.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in apartment maintenance or related fields, strong communication, and the ability to work independently within a team. On-site, full-time position with potential on-call shifts and a 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in apartment maintenance, facilities, or residential construction.
• Strong communication skills with residents, vendors, and team members.
• Familiarity with basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, and appliance maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation to get to work.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine property inspections and address maintenance issues proactively.
• Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally.
• Maintain property grounds and common areas to keep them attractive.
• Assist in unit turnovers and make-readies, including painting and cleaning as needed.
• Support preventative maintenance to extend system lifespans.
• Ensure safety standards and codes are followed.
• Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management.
• Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies.
