Qualifications

Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician maintains the physical condition of the community and provides service to residents. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, making repairs, and completing service requests promptly. Eligible candidates may receive a $500 net sign-on bonus.

Maintenance Technician Job Family

This role is part of the Maintenance Technician Job Family, which includes levels from Trainee to Technician III, with structured requirements and training plans for advancement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain HVAC, mechanical, electrical, utilities, and lighting systems, including inspections and repairs.
  • Lead and coordinate with mechanics, technicians, and contractors on projects.
  • Control inventory of parts and equipment.
  • Ensure safety and environmental policies are followed.
  • Deliver high resident satisfaction through professional interactions.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for 24/7 maintenance coverage.
Candidate Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4-6 years maintenance experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Advanced knowledge in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to diagnose and recommend repairs
  • Self-motivated with good time management
  • Relevant certifications (EPA 608, Boiler, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair) within 9 months of hire or promotion
  • Completion of required training for Tech I and II within specified timeframes
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
Physical Demands & Work Conditions

Regular use of hands, standing, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments, interacting with residents and staff.
