Role Overview

The Maintenance Technician maintains the physical condition of the community and provides excellent service to residents. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, making repairs, and completing service requests promptly. You may be eligible for a $500 net sign-on bonus paid in your first paycheck.

Maintenance Technician Job Family

This role is part of BBC's Maintenance Technician Job Family, which includes levels from Trainee to III, with training plans to help you advance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and lighting systems, including inspections and repairs. Lead and coordinate with contractors and technicians. Manage parts inventory and make repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.
  • Deliver high resident satisfaction through professional interactions.
  • Work a rotating on-call schedule for 24/7 maintenance coverage.
Candidate Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4-6 years maintenance experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Expertise in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and repair issues
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Relevant certifications (EPA 608, Boiler, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair) within 9 months of hire/promotion
  • Completion of required training for Tech I and II within specified timeframes
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
Physical Demands and Work Conditions

Regular use of hands, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Work occurs in both indoor and outdoor environments, often interacting directly with residents and staff.
