Job summary

Kaftan Communities in Michigan is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to uphold the property's physical health and safety. You will troubleshoot, repair, and prepare units for new residents across Westbury Village and Foxcroft Townhomes.

The role covers plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, appliance repair, and grounds upkeep, including snow removal. You’ll handle work orders, on-call emergencies, and help create a welcoming living environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hands-on maintenance experience in residential, commercial, or related fields.
• Skills in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair.
• A high school diploma or equivalent (HVAC/EPA certifications are a plus).
• A valid driver’s license and insurance.
• A strong work ethic, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to safety.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks indoors and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and more.
• Preparing vacant units for new move-ins to meet our high standards.
• Keeping the grounds clean, safe, and inviting — including snow removal and landscaping.
• Handling service requests efficiently and professionally.
• Participating in the on-call rotation to respond to emergency maintenance needs.
• Supporting the property team in creating a great living experience for residents
