Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Services for the Blind seeks a Casework Associate I (S) to support residents at the CTC in Raleigh. You will work 2pm-10:30pm, Sunday through Thursday, aiding students in daily living, classroom activities, and independent functioning with assistive tech.

You will collaborate with the Residential Life Coordinator and staff, applying human service skills and ensuring safety in a 24/7 residential setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
• Experience working in a residential setting.
• First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
• Familiar with JAWS, Zoom Text, and other assistive technology.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in the residential program and reinforce classroom skills.
• Assist with recreational activities and orientation to the facility.
• Collaborate with the residential life team to ensure safety and independence.
• Participate in onboarding training on technology used by individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
