Job summary

Sears Holdings Corporation is seeking an experienced In-Home Appliance Service Technician to repair home appliances in customers’ residences. You will diagnose, repair, and service a range of appliances and promote Value Added Services to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years appliance maintenance or repair experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment.

• Willingness to follow defined processes and safety guidelines.
• Required pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Repair appliances in customers’ homes (washers, dryers, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, disposers).
• Provide timely, quality repairs and maintain high customer service standards.
• Promote and sell additional products and services.
• Meet performance metrics and productivity goals.
• Maintain organized truck and stock per company guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

• As a repair technician, you will be responsible for the repair of products in customers' homes. Products you will repair include the following home appliances: Washers & Dryers, Gas & Electric Stoves, Microwave Ovens, Dishwashers, Trash Compactors, Garbage Disposers, and other home appliances.
• Providing timely and quality repairs of customers' products
• Maintaining high-quality customer service and care
• Promoting and selling additional products and services
• Meeting key performance metrics and/or productivity goals
• Providing knowledgeable and courteous repair service
• Looking for ways to improve business performance and enhance the customer experience
• Communicating benefits of the Value Added Services Process to the customer
• Maintaining truck stock inventory within the prescribed company guidelines and standards
• Following the truck maintenance schedule and keeping a clean, organized truck

Job Requirements

• At least 1 - 2 years of appliance maintenance or repair technician experience, preferred
• Working mechanical knowledge, including the use of tools and test equipment
• Ability to perform accurate repair of customer product
• Must complete all technician training elements within required timeframes
• Ability to follow directions and specific process steps to ensure quality workmanship
• Flexibility to work variable and flexible hours, including overtime
• Ability to use a computer for parts inquiries and ordering
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
