Job summary

Townsend Company in Indianapolis is seeking a Maintenance Foreperson to lead a residential landscape maintenance bed care crew. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and excellent communication with clients to ensure high-end property satisfaction.

You will supervise crew duties, perform bed care, and oversee seasonal services, including spring and fall clean-ups and snow removal, while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in residential landscape maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of horticulture, bed care, and plant identification.
• Working knowledge of commercial landscape equipment.
• Basic understanding of irrigation systems and minor repairs.
• Knowledge of proper edging, mulching, and chemical application techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance crew on high-end residential properties.
• Perform bed care, edging, mulching, and pruning.
• Identify and manage trees, shrubs, perennials; control invasive growth.
• Coordinate seasonal services: spring/fall clean-ups and snow removal.
• Train crew on proper techniques and safety procedures.
• Communicate with clients and ensure service quality.
• Inspect and approve completed work.
