Job summary

Tri City Glass & Door Inc is seeking a Residential Installer to safely install and repair residential glass products, including doors, windows, showers, and mirrors, in customers’ homes. No prior experience is required as comprehensive training is provided.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be 18 years or older to operate power tools.
  • Previous construction/residential experience is a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use a tape measure and read measurements.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or carry more than 75 lbs.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces.
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or scaffolding.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Install and repair residential glass products (doors, windows, mirrors) in customers’ homes.
  • Review customer orders to ensure materials are available before loading the truck.
  • Utilize mechanical aptitude to solve installation issues and customer concerns.
  • Coordinate with customers and scheduling about delays or changes.
  • Measure, cut, and fabricate on-site to ensure top-quality installations.
  • Maintain a neat, clean truck and practice safe work methods at all times.
  • Provide accurate measurements for estimators or project managers.

Summary:

The Residential Installer will safely and successfully complete the installation or repair for all residential products, services, and glass along with any repair work needed to ensure the best possible service and results for our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:
  • Required to wear and use Personal Protective Equipment per Tri City Glass & Door and contractor policies.
  • Complete all installations and/or repairs of all residential products as assigned by Department Manager. This includes but is not limited to shower doors, mirrors, entry doors, storm doors, windows, and storm windows.
  • Discuss and review customer orders to ensure the appropriate materials needed to complete the work order are available before loading the truck to install.
  • Using mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail, problem-solve installation and or any customer concerns as they come up, both on new products and existing to ensure all work is done properly.
  • Communicate regularly with customers and/or scheduling office in the event jobs are delayed or early.
  • Use strong problem-solving skills to minimize waste and rework.
  • Measure, cut, and fabricate accurately while installing materials in the field to ensure top-quality, trouble-free installations eliminating any issues, such as air/water leaks.
  • Maintain a neat and clean truck.
  • Practice safe work methods at all times, report, and respond to hazardous situations.
  • Provide accurate measurements for Estimators/Project Managers when measuring for job quotes.
  • Work with Lead Installers for training and skill development.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

The work environment will be in indoors/outdoors in the customer’s home, year-round installing windows, shower doors, entry doors, patio doors, and screen porch rooms.
