Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US is seeking an Area Sales Manager I, Residential for Western NY to grow market share by developing relationships with distributors, contractors, and Diamond Contractors. The role emphasizes training, support, and driving sales growth across Mitsubishi’s home solutions.

The position requires up to 50% travel, strong communication skills, and a strategic approach to market development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or related experience.
• 1–3 years sales experience in HVAC preferred.
• 1–3 years calling on residential and mechanical contractors.
• Familiar with HVAC wholesale and dealer organizations helpful.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with PowerPoint/Excel/Word and other Microsoft Office products.
• Familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
• Public speaking to small and large groups.
• Must reside in the territory.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Team player aligned with METUS core values.

Responsibilities

• Partner with distributor staff and contractors to execute growth plans.
• Develop partnerships with distributors’ sales teams, contractors, utility companies and builders.
• Sell Mitsubishi’s value proposition and broad home solutions.
• Conduct training and marketing programs for contractors and distributors.
• Maintain contractor information in Salesforce and report market conditions monthly.
• Travel up to 50% within the territory for meetings and events.
• Develop Residential Market Strategy for the territory using market data.
