Qualifications

• At least 5 years of residential HVAC service experience.
• Strong diagnostic knowledge of residential heating and cooling systems.
• Proven ability to communicate repair and replacement recommendations to homeowners.
• Experience preparing estimates and presenting service options.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• EPA Section 608 certification.
• Ability to complete required licensing or registration requirements applicable to the position.
• Basic proficiency with mobile devices, field service software, estimates, invoices, and customer records.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the broader service and installation team.
• Professional appearance, dependable attendance, and strong follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot residential furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, indoor air quality equipment, and related HVAC systems.
• Perform approved repairs and maintenance according to manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and company standards.
• Conduct thorough system evaluations and identify safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency concerns.
• Explain findings and available repair or replacement options in clear, homeowner-friendly language.
• Prepare accurate repair estimates and replacement recommendations.
• Present financing or payment options when available and approved.
• Identify appropriate opportunities for system upgrades, maintenance agreements, indoor air quality products, and energy-efficiency improvements.
• Maintain complete and accurate customer, equipment, estimate, and service records.
• Collect payment and complete required job documentation before leaving each appointment.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, installation teams, management, and other technicians.

About The Role

Airz Heating and Cooling is hiring an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician who can accurately diagnose heating and cooling systems, explain repair and replacement options clearly, and help homeowners make informed decisions.

This role is designed for a technician who combines strong technical ability with professional communication and consultative sales skills. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality customer experience, identifying appropriate solutions, and completing accurate documentation for every service call.

This is not a high-pressure sales role. We are looking for someone who can earn customer trust, provide clear recommendations, and produce results through technical competence and honest communication.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose and troubleshoot residential furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, indoor air quality equipment, and related HVAC systems
• Perform approved repairs and maintenance according to manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and company standards

What We’re Looking For

• Ability to lift, carry, climb, kneel, and work in attics, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, and outdoor conditions
