Job summary

American Avenue is seeking a Residential Maintenance Technician (Property Engineer) to inspect, repair, and maintain homes, ensuring tenant satisfaction through proactive service and clear communication.

You will handle HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks, manage work orders, respond to resident inquiries, and stay current with codes and safety regulations. Tools and a vehicle required; on-call availability and strong customer service essential.

Qualifications

• Carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical work proficiency.
• Own tools and a vehicle (truck or van).
• Must own IOS device (iPad or iPhone).
• Valid driver’s license and reside nearby.
• EPA/OSHA knowledge.
• Professional appearance and on-call readiness.
• Stay current with HVAC advancements and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain homes; address issues proactively.
• Manage work orders in the SFR3 platform and coordinate with the Maintenance Coordinator.
• Communicate scope and progress to tenants; provide updates and address questions.
• Respond to resident inquiries via SMS and ensure service quality.
• Handle emergency situations calmly and provide quick solutions.
