Job summary

Southern Home Services, a residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical company, seeks a Residential New Construction HVAC Mechanic to install and commission systems in new homes. You will interpret blueprints, meet codes, and test systems for proper operation.

Responsibilities include ductwork installation, pipe and tubing work, and mentoring helpers while maintaining safety and timeliness. Requires 2–3 years of experience and a valid driver’s license. Non-exempt, competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of HVAC installation experience and understanding of components.
• Ability to read plans, diagrams, and specifications for correct installation.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork, with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Install and inspect HVAC equipment in residential settings per codes.
• Descale tubing, braze copper, and wire low voltage connections.
• Install ductwork, dampers, and zone controls for proper airflow.
• Maintain tools and materials, adhere to schedules and reports faults.
• Test joints for leaks and instruct helpers on installation techniques.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and builder requirements.
