Job summary

ABACUS is seeking a Plumbing Generator Install and Service Technician in Houston to perform installation, troubleshooting, and repair of residential standby generator systems. You will diagnose electrical, mechanical, and gas issues to keep customers’ systems safe and reliable.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
Tradesman or journeyman license required.
Experience with residential natural gas and propane piping systems is important.

Responsibilities

Install, modify, troubleshoot, and repair residential gas/propane piping for standby generators.
Gas pressure testing and leak detection; ensure safety and codes compliance.
Size piping to support generator operation per manufacturer requirements.
Coordinate electrical and gas repairs for complete generator functionality.
Educate homeowners on operation, maintenance, and gas supply considerations.
Respond to emergency service calls to minimize downtime for clients.
Collaborate with dispatch, managers, and team members to meet service needs.
Stay updated with industry advances and best practices.
Maintain a clean, safe work area and proper storage of tools.
