Job summary

Dobson Fiber is seeking an Installation & Repair Technician to install and maintain residential fiber networks, delivering high‑speed internet, TV and phone services. You will install cables, perform site surveys, configure equipment, and troubleshoot issues, while educating customers and maintaining records.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of fiber experience, and proficiency with fiber tools.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of fiber optic installation, maintenance, or related experience.
Proficiency with fiber testing tools and equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to travel to multiple job sites as required.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Install fiber optic cables and equipment in residential settings, ensuring proper connections and signal quality.
Perform site surveys to determine best installation practices and identify obstacles.
Configure and test fiber optic equipment, including routers, modems, and ONTs.
Troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic installation issues, including signal loss and connectivity problems.
Educate customers on use and maintenance of installed fiber optic systems and provide excellent service.
Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all activities.
Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and customer service representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in fiber optic technology and installation techniques.
