Job summary

Dobson Fiber is seeking an Installation & Repair Technician to install and maintain fiber optic systems delivering high-speed internet, TV, and phone services to residential customers. You will perform site surveys, configure and test ONTs, routers, and modems, and troubleshoot installations while ensuring safety and quality.

Strong customer service is essential. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in fiber optics, a high school diploma or technical certification, and ability to travel to job

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in telecommunications, electronics, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of fiber optic installation, maintenance, or related field experience.
• Proficiency with fiber optic tools and equipment; strong understanding of network architecture.

Responsibilities

• Install fiber optic cables and equipment in residential settings, ensuring proper connections and signal quality.
• Perform site surveys to determine best installation practices and identify obstacles.
• Configure and test fiber optic equipment, including routers, modems, and ONTs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fiber optic installations, including signal loss and connectivity problems.
• Educate customers on use and maintenance of installed fiber optic systems and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all installation and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and customer service representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in fiber optic technology and installation techniques.
