Episcopal SeniorLife Communities is seeking a Laundry Crew Leader to supervise laundry staff and manage daily operations. This part-time role supports the department during a 4-5 hour shift on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with a biweekly schedule and an $18.00 per hour pay rate.

The incumbent will monitor tasks, ensure cleaning standards, train staff, and handle supply needs while maintaining resident respect and safety in a senior living setting.

• Assist with apartment cleaning/ turnover duties as needed.
• Train and develop new and incumbent staff vendors.

ESV/Laundry Crew Leader

Schedule:

Monday, Wednesday-Friday

Casual 15-20 hours per week

4-5 hours daily/flexible schedule

Pay:

$18.00 per hour

The laundry crew leader is responsible for all phases of the laundry operation as detailed in the laundry worker job description. The laundry crew leader is responsible for the supervision and direction of laundry staff in the absence of the department director.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Monitors completion of daily work assignments for the housekeeping staff/vendor.
• Inspects the building for adherence to established cleaning standards, identifies problem areas, and ensures correction.
• Responsible for notifying director of supply and equipment needs.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas.
• Mop all tile and LVT areas.
• Empty all waste baskets.
• Maintain cleanliness in special purpose rooms and all public/common areas.
• Properly dilute and use all chemicals in accordance with procedures.
• Wear protective gloves when performing various tasks.
• Report any hazardous conditions or equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Notify administrative team and other appropriate parties of changes in resident status.
• When apartment cleaning/turnover needed:
• Sanitize all bathroom fixtures (tub, sink, toilet, etc.).
• Clean kitchen thoroughly, including countertops, stove, refrigerator, cabinets.
• Dust as needed.
• Strip bed and remake with second set of resident linen.
• Gather all towels and washcloths, and sheets, for laundering.
• Follow apartment checklist for complete services.
• Responsible for training and development of new and incumbent staff/vendors and/or development of laundry service program.
• Complete personal resident laundry according to program development, as requested by residents.
• Respond to emergencies as per building protocol.
• Attend departmental in-services, staff meetings and required facility in-services.
• Wear departmental uniform or required attire during all shifts.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to receive and give oral and written directions.
• This position may/will be required to provide direct care or have access to resident property or belongings.
• Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and he general public.

EDUCATION:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent or willingness and ability to learn procedures necessary for position.

EXPERIENCE:

• Six months’ environmental services experience preferred, preferably in a health care setting. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
