Job summary

The Energy Code Compliance Specialist will prepare EnergyGauge reports for residential projects and coordinate with HVAC designers to ensure accurate energy modeling aligned with Florida Building Code requirements.

The role requires hands-on experience with Florida Energy Gauge, Manual J/S/D calculations, and a strong ability to read plans and communicate with builders

Qualifications

• 2+ years using Florida Energy Gauge (EnergyGauge USA) for residential projects.
• Working knowledge of Manual J, Manual S, and Manual D calculations.
• Familiarity with the Florida Building Code and Form R405/R406 requirements.
• Strong understanding of building envelope components and their impact on energy modeling.
• Proficiency reading residential construction plans and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple project files.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for builder and code official interactions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Florida Energy Gauge compliance reports for residential projects, ensuring accuracy of envelope, HVAC, and duct inputs.
• Coordinate with HVAC designers to align Manual J/S/D data with EnergyGauge modeling inputs.
• Review architectural plans to extract envelope, glazing, insulation, and mechanical data for energy modeling.
• Ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and Energy Conservation edition adopted by the state.
• Generate and submit documentation for permitting and plan review.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready compliance documentation for each project.
• Stay current on Florida Building Code updates and EnergyGauge software updates.
