Job summary

Technibus, Inc. seeks an experienced Energy Code Compliance Specialist to prepare Florida Energy Gauge compliance documentation for new residential projects.

The role requires hands-on experience with EnergyGauge modeling and Manual J/S/D calculations in line with Florida Building Code energy conservation requirements. The ideal candidate will collaborate with HVAC designers to ensure accurate inputs, review plans for envelope data, and submit permitted documentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience using Florida Energy Gauge (EnergyGauge USA) for residential projects.
• Working knowledge of Manual J, Manual S, and Manual D calculations.
• Familiarity with the Florida Building Code and Form R405/R406 requirements.
• Strong understanding of building envelope components and their impact on energy modeling.
• Proficiency reading residential construction plans and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple project files simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for builder and code official interactions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Florida Energy Gauge compliance reports for residential projects, ensuring accuracy of envelope, HVAC, and duct data inputs.
• Coordinate with HVAC designers to align Manual J, S, and D data with EnergyGauge inputs.
• Review architectural plans to extract envelope, glazing, insulation, and mechanical data for accurate modeling.
• Ensure compliance with Florida Building Code and Energy Conservation edition.
• Generate and submit required documentation for permitting and plan review.
• Maintain organized job files with audit-ready compliance documentation.
• Stay current on Florida Building Code updates and EnergyGauge software updates.
