Job summary

Lawson Home Services is seeking a Residential Energy Auditor / Home Performance Inspector to perform energy audits for the Energize Delaware Rebate Program. Training and BPI certification are provided, and candidates with home inspection or residential construction experience are encouraged to apply.

The role involves performing audits, inspecting insulation and HVAC systems, documenting findings, and producing clear written reports.

Qualifications

• Experience in home inspections OR residential construction (remodeling, insulation, HVAC, roofing, carpentry, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
• Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and tight spaces
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Valid DE driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Willingness to earn BPI Certification (training provided)

Responsibilities

• Perform residential energy audits and diagnostic testing (blower door, duct testing — training provided)
• Inspect insulation, air sealing, HVAC/duct systems, and building envelope components
• Review homeowner comfort/energy concerns and collect usage information
• Document findings accurately for the Energize Delaware program
• Produce clear written reports and recommendations
• Maintain organized tools, equipment, and job sites
• Communicate professionally with customers and the office team
