Job Description
We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Residential Energy Auditor. The role involves acting as a local on‑site program and company representative to residential customers and contractors, installing energy efficient equipment, conducting energy efficiency (re)audits, and performing other technical data gathering activities throughout a defined territory.
Responsibilities
- Act as a local, on‑site program and company representative to residential customers and contractors.
- Install energy efficient equipment, conduct energy efficiency (re)audits, and perform pre‑and post‑installation verifications.
- Collect and analyze technical data gathering activities through a defined territory.
- Support Program Managers in influencing stakeholders to sell and/or install energy efficiency and demand response retrofits or services.
- Provide technical advice, guidance, and training on installation, adaptation, configuration, or enhancement in accordance with client specifications.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and issues and recommend solutions.
- Establish and build relationships with residential customers and contractors to ensure that necessary energy efficiency measures are properly installed to standards and on time.
- Record and track contractor interactions, verifying that installations achieve required program savings.
- Inform, educate, and train contractors about the program.
- Provide individualized and ongoing assistance to property owners and contractors to ensure project compliance with contract requirements.
- Document customer and contractor interactions to adhere to program requirements.
- Provide input and status updates to program staff.
- Encourage participation in the program and overcome barriers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in a related field (preferred). BPI, QCI, or HERS certification is preferred.
- Experience in residential energy conservation, preferably in the Weatherization Assistance Program, residential construction, or a related field.
- Enthusiasm for energy conservation is a key attribute for this position.
- Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft programs including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal, reporting, sales, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Physical ability to lift thirty‑five pounds (35 lbs) and inspect tight areas, attics, crawl spaces, hatch doors, etc.
- Ability to utilize a tablet and mobile devices for audits and communication.
Employment Requirements
- Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and driving record check.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Compensation
Targeted Compensation: $21-23 per hour. Pay determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant’s skills and relevant experience.
