Job summary

TurnPoint Services is seeking an Electrical Technician to perform installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance for residential and commercial customers in Des Moines area. The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and clear communication.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of electrical service experience, strong knowledge of electrical theory, and the ability to work with panels, load calculations, grounding/bonding, and low-voltage systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in electrical service, maintenance, or installation.
• State Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred; valid driver’s license.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, wiring methods, panels, load calculations, grounding/bonding, and low-voltage systems.
• OSHA and NFPA 70E standards familiarity; PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Repair: troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, panels, switches, outlets, lighting, and other components.
• Installations: perform new circuit installations, lighting upgrades, panel replacements, EV chargers, and other system enhancements.
• Preventive Maintenance: routine inspections, load testing, and maintenance for code compliance.
• Safety & Code Compliance: follow NEC, NFPA, and company safety standards; pass inspections and codes.
• Documentation: complete service tickets with materials, time, and notes.
• Customer Service: explain repair options and provide recommendations to improve performance or safety.
• Team Collaboration: coordinate with supervisors, dispatchers, and other trades.
• Equipment Care: maintain tools, testing equipment, and service vehicle.
